Access to Suez Canal Tunnel. Port Said, Egypt

The project consists of the approaches to the twin bored tunnel under the Suez Cannal at Port Said, Egypt. 

A total of 495 m of U-shape approach ramps and 1446 m of cut and cover tunnels were designed. 

Depth of bottom slab was up to 25 meters below ground level. Soil consisting of very soft silt deposits, and the water table almost at ground level, combined with the very deep excavation to create very challenging conditions for the design.
