Bilbao Metro: segment Sarratu-Aperribai. Bilbao, Spain

The segment of the Bilbao Metro between Sarratu and Aperribai is designed as a cut-and-cover tunel which accommodates the main line and a secondary line that branches out of the main and eventually reaches the ground level.

Tunnel is approximately 300 m long, and it connects with the starting point of a bored tunnel. Width is variable with a maximum of 22 meters.

SILGA has been responsible for the concept and detail design of the structure.

Client is Fulcrum Engineering, and Owner the Raiway authority of the Basque Country.
