Ferrerías Viaduct. Asturias, Spain

The project consists of a viaduct 848 m long and 27 m wide, continuous with expansion joints only at both ends. Typical spans are 74 m long.

The cross section is designed with a single-cell cast in place concrete box girder with side struts to achieve the full width.

Construction is done as balanced cantilever of the box section. Precast struts and slabs were added after the central box is completed.

SILGA was responsible for detail design and assistance during construction, including geometry control.
