Albentosa Viaduct. Teruel, Spain

The viaduct is designed as a cast in place concrete box girder built span-by-span on moveable scaffolding system (MSS). Typical spans are 50 meters.

The crossing over the river is done with steel arches with a span of 100 m. Arches are designed as a box section, with stiffened plates.

Weathering steel is chosen as the arch material because it is maintenance-free and provides a pleasant visual contrast with the concrete.

SILGA was responsible for detail design and assistance during erection of the arches.
