Jeddah Gateways. Saudi Arabia

The city of Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia, is one of the country’s economic engines, thanks to its port, but specially for being the entry point of pilgrims to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. As part of the plans of Jeddah Municipality for improving the attraction of the city, a public tender for design of the gateways to the city was issued and was awarded to the consortium formed by AMO&P Engineering and SILGA.

The design for the gateway on the road to Makkah consisted on a spiral structure designed in steel, with a total height of 80 meters.

For the gateway on the road to Madinah, the choice was a double arch, designed in steel, with a height of 50 meters.

The contract included all stages of the project from Concept, Preliminary, Detail designs to tender documents.
